Today is April 10, 2020; the
The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration is at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at Viterbo University Fine Arts Center, 929 Jackson St., La Crosse. The featured speaker at the 2017 event is Nucleus Johnson of Dallas, Texas, who has electrified crowds all over the country with his historically accurate personification of Dr. King’s speeches. Johnson will recite some of Dr. King’s words timely to our nation about valuing the helping of others over the desire to be first or “to lead the parade.” The next day, Mr. Johnson will recite to area 7th graders another inspiring sermon of Dr. King. It is meant to guide students to think not only of themselves, but to others in their world who they may yet get to know.
Our rabbi, Simcha Prombaum, will be delivering the Invocation and CSOA is listed as an in-kind sponsor.
