Today is September 17, 2019; the
Pastor Mark Solyst invited Rabbi Prombaum to lead two 45-minute learning sessions on the Jewish Sabbath between services at English Lutheran Church (ELC), on Sunday, February 25 and Sunday, March 4. The sessions begin at 9:45 am.
Sabbath is the focus of ELC’s programming for the Lenten season which began on Ash Wednesday (February 14) and goes through Easter.
During the first session, the focus will be on Biblical sources. Questions like, “For what purpose did G-d institute a Sabbath?” will be considered. The second session will be a personal reflection on the benefits of Sabbath observance for Jews and Christians alike, and how one goes about instituting a Sabbath in their own life.
Attendance at the sessions is free and open to members of CSOA.
